Mermaid drawings at Cactus Gallery
I've been creating a whole bunch of super simple sketches to sell at Cactus Gallery's upcoming Drawing/Sketch show on their cash and carry wall. These 5"x7" beauties are matted and hand drawn on pages from a vintage National Geographic book about the South Pacific.

A Pictorial Book Review (sometimes you just don't have words)
I am in a bookclub with some other gals in my area. Yesterday we met at Jane's house to discuss the book she had selected.
(This post should be prefaced with the fact that the book was ---- umm, a "mermaid" book)
A couple of weeks prior to last night's meeting, I was talking to my neighbor Kathy about the book (which I had not started). She told me that she "had a hard time getting into it" and she did not care for the sci-fi genre. I told her I needed to start reading it ASAP so I could finish the book before our meeting.
For the good of the club, I did make one more attempt to read the book.
PS. I fessed up to the fact that I did not read the book (blaming it on the genre) but mentioned that I really liked the pictures.
PPS. I declined to mention my photo shoot.

Things just went downhill from there.
