I am a huge fan of VS magazine, I always look forward for new issues and the September one left me spechless. 
Images of pictorial beauty, dreamy atmosphere and clothes that are tranformed in light and almost immaterial wings. The perfect mix to make me dream and to start the week in a perfect way.

Sono una grandissima fan di VS mgazine, aspetto sempre con ansia i nuovi numeri e devo dire che quello di settembre mi ha lasciato senza parole.

Immagini di una belezza pittorica, un'atmosfera onirica e vestiti che si trasformano in ali leggere e quasi immateriali. Il mix perfetto per farmi sognare e iniziare bene la settimana.

Inspiration of the week: Strike a pose

We all need a bit of self-criticism sometimes...
Abbiamo tutto bisogno di un po' di autocritica a volte...

Inspirational languid and often extreme poses that make me dream of other worlds, are the reason why I am so in love with fashion magazines.
But what would happen if the same poses were carried to the real world by normal women? Obviously they would be verging on the ridiculous and kitsch, creating uncomfortable feelings in the audience.

This is the raw nerve on which the Spanish artist Yolanda Domínguez concentrates her critique, with the performance "Poses".
The video here below is a résumé of a living performance presented in Madrid. A group of common women, very far from the stereotype of models but perfectly real, transfer in daily settings (a park in the city, the queue in a museum, the bus stop, the supermarket) the glamour allure of fashion shootings.

The result is grotesque, especially if we stop and look at the astonished and disgusted reactions of the audience and we consider that this is the same audience that would look ecstatically at a fashion advertising whit a model striking the same pose.

With this performance Yolanda Domínguez wants to make clear how ridiculous and insane the fashion world is, and she allows us, convinced fashionistas (but with a brain), to stop for a while and reflect.


Pose languide e spesso esasperate, che riescono a trasportarmi in un altro mondo, fantastico e patinato sono il motivo per cui amo cosí tanto le riviste di moda.
Ma cosa succederebbe se queste stesse pose venissero riproposte da donne reali in contesti quotidiani? Ovviamente sfiorerebbero il ridicolo e il kitsch, mettendo addirittura a disagio chi si trova a doverle guardare.

È proprio su questo tasto che si concentra la critica dell'artista spagnola Yolanda Domínguez con "Poses".
Il video qui sotto è il condensato di una living performance presentata nelle vie di Madrid dall'artista spagnola. Un gruppo di donne comuni, lontanissime dallo stereotipo della modella ma perfettamente conformi alla realtà, hanno trasportato in ambientazioni reali (in un parco cittadino, in coda al museo, alla fermata del bus e al supermercato) l´allure degli shooting di moda.
Il risultato è a dir poco grottesco, soprattutto se ci soffermiamo sulle reazioni attonite e spesso disgustate degli spettatori, che sono gli stessi che probabilmente si fermerebbero estasiati a guardare una modella assumere la stessa posa in una pubblicità.

Una performance con cui Yolanda Domínguez vuole dimostrare quanto il mondo della moda sia ridicolo e insensato e che permette a noi fashioniste convinte (ma con cervello) di fermarci un attimo a riflettere.

Beautiful shoes are just like beautiful women: they are enhanced in front of a camera lens.
When the Italian shoes meet the lens of a great fashion photographer, they give their best, showing their difference personalities and facets.
I love how the shoes follow the movements and define the geometry of the picture or how they transfigure and exalt themselves, stealing the scene from the model and becoming the real star of the shoot.

Le belle scarpe sono come le belle donne, riescono ad esaltarsi e a dare il proprio meglio davanti ad una macchina fotografica. Quando le scarpe italiane incontrano l'obiettivo di un grande fotografo, danno il proprio meglio, mostrando tutte le loro sfaccettature e le diverse personalità.
È un piacere vedere come seguono i movimenti e definiscono la geometria dell'immagine, come si trasfigurano e si esaltano, rubando la scena alla modella e diventando le protagoniste della composizione.
Ecco una selezione di scatti spettacolari, che hanno tutti per soggetto le scarpe italiane. Una vera e propria ode alle nostre scarpe, al loro fascino e al loro enorme potere seduttivo.

Inspiration of the week: Stockholm

It's been a month since I relocated to Stockholm, and now I want to share with you some pictures of my new beautiful city.

Nothing compares to Swedish summer: astonishing blue skies (I've never seen a blue like this in Milan), 20 hours of light, parks everywhere to picnic in, and of course my wonderful boyfriend with me. ♥♥

Inspiration of the week: Vittoria Puccini
