We thought it would be fun to whet your appetite with one of the latest designers to hit the lingerie scene: Dottie's Delights.  This adorable label is certainly inspired by burlesque and pin-up, which are two of our favorite things!  2011 marks the year that Dottie's Delights is crossing over from being an Etsy shop to being carried in select stores across the US.  Not only that, but the designer is pairing up next month with Faire Frou Frou darling Love, Lulu Mae to be part of A Pin-Up Extravaganza in Chicago.  That means you get dolled-up in retro-inspired lingerie, top it off with fun accessories and memorialize it by being photographed by Jane J Gaspar.  Sounds like fun to us!  To RSVP and learn more about being part of this cheeky event (which takes place on February 5, 2011), visit the Dottie's Delights blog here.

Faire Frou Frou is one lucky boutique because we were selected to be part of the exclusive collaboration between the fabulous lingerie brand Toad Lillie and the extraordinary accessories label Love, Lulu Mae.  Both designers specialize in glamour and frills, so it only seemed natural that they joined forces to create a few designs that would make a dazzling impression in our store-front window.  Toad Lillie (who just launched her online boutique today!) created the navy blue silk "Bow Peek" set which has the coordinating hand-painted/hand-beaded "Bewitching Hour" garter belt.  Love, Lulu Mae created a matching accessory with the show-stopping Top Hat that is also navy blue (and black) and topped with feathers and sparkles galore! 

The second set designed exclusively with Faire Frou Frou in mind was the "Sway With Me" raspberry silk bra & high-waist cinched panty set.  Love, Lulu Mae then created the beautifully feathered over-the-top masquerade mask to match it!  

The ladies behind both Toad Lillie and Love, Lulu Mae are not only talented designers, but wonderfully dynamic women as well.  We were fortunate to meet with them on a recent trip to Chicago where we made a bit of a scene at the restaurant we visited because of our giddy gabfest and our table filled with gorgeous silks, feathers and sparkles!  A special shout-out goes to Agnes Miles, the sweetheart behind LLM who coordinated the photo shoot and models for this wonderful collaboration.  Not only is she a great accessories designer, but she makes a heck of a producer!

Vavoom Pinups!

Thanks to Agnes at Love, Lulu Mae (who we featured a short while ago), we discovered Vavoom Pinups photography! She used this company for her catalog images, and naturally we just fell in love. All of these models look like they're having so much fun and each does a wonderful job capturing the bright, sweet look of the retro pinup. In addition to pinup photography, Vavoom Pinups does boudoir shoots too! The boudoir shots have a retro flair as well and remind us of images from those old 'girly magazines' of the 1950s.
Vavoom Pinups is based in Chicago and consists of an all-women team of wardrobe stylists, hair & makeup stylists & the photographer!

It is with great pleasure that we share the latest lookbook of pin-up ARTcessories brand Love, Lulu Mae. The designer, Agnes "Lulu Mae" Miles (who is the ultimate sweetheart...she even calls us "sugar" in her emails), creates one-of-a-kind headbands and hair accessories that are inspired from the 1930s & 40s. Her inspiration is definitely translated in the most recent photo shoot of vintage-inspired beauties. From hair clips to headbands, most pieces are adorned with crystals, flowers & even vintage brooches! Prices range from $30 to $300 depending on how ornate you would like to get.
