If you suddenly feel the urge to book a trip to Miami Beach and lay poolside at the Raleigh Hotel, you are not alone.  The Spring 2011 Zinke collection was designed with Miami in mind; specifically the sunny destination spot Collins Avenue. Naturally a few of the pieces in the new collection are named after famous Miami hotels (the Carlyle, the Raleigh...) and every piece will have you yearning for sunny days and swaying palm trees.  This season the Zinke designers Arin & Jessie were inspired by the "energy, vibrancy and art deco architecture" of Miami which translates in their cheerful use of color: pool blue, flamingo pink, sand dollar ivory and chartreuse green.

It seems like time is flying by, and before you know it it will be Summer! A fun, fresh way to usher in the new season would be to start with these adorable loungewear pieces by Zinke Design (pronounced Zin-kee). Their Summer 2010 collection is hitting stores in a matter of days and consists of essentials you can comfortably relax in from day to night. We are particularly loving the violet and tangerine colorways...they remind us of a delicious bowl of sorbet!

Skin Lingerie on the Martha Stewart Show!

We were beyond excited when we heard from our friend Susan Beischel of Skin Lingerie that she would be featured on the Martha Stewart Show! How absolutely perfect that this organic cotton brand be featured on Martha's show, especially given its practical, eco-friendly foundation.
We have carried Skin Lingerie at Faire Frou Frou for as long as we have been in business, and it's well-known by our customers as an essential loungewear line. Martha Stewart refers to it as "comfy cotton couture"...we agree!
Most of Skin's pieces are made from pima cotton in varying weights (from terry cloth to featherweight) and even some Fall/Winter specialty pieces in cashmere. A selection of items are made in organic cotton and dyed using vegetable dye. Any 'fur' you may see is alpaca hair, which Susan makes certain is obtained cruelty-free.

Kriss Soonik: Lingerie as Outerwear

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection from London-based designer Kriss Soonik is finally available! The new pieces are filled with a kind of urban feminine charm, and showcased on a model who refuses to put on a sultry face just because she's modeling intimates.
As you can see, many of the pieces work perfectly as outerwear or better yet, they are wonderful for showing a pretty bra that is layered underneath.

Kriss Soonik - Simple Girls with Super Powers

Fun and flirty pretty much summarizes this collection of images from lingerie & loungewear designer Kriss Soonik. This fresh (relatively new) brand from the UK was one of seven top brands selected by Conde Nast's Phoebe Arnold to showcase its Fall 2010 collection at London Fashion Week. The preview will take place on February 21st at the London Fashion Week Somerset House...what an honor!
We have selected images from the current Winter collection in this post. Each piece is handmade in Estonia and feature plenty of peek-a-boo details, bows and lace. Kriss describes the inspiration behind her collection as follows:

The inspiration comes from the slogan “Simple Girls with Super Powers” and is influenced by Manga comics, superheroines and Jane Fonda as Barbarella! From career women to full-time mums and from Cinderella to Snow White, at the end of the day we are all just Simple Girls with Super Powers.

We think Kriss Soonik is a name we will be hearing plenty more about in the seasons to come!
