Time to Stock-Up on Stockings!

We love when stockings become the focal point of a fashion editorial...it just shows what a strong accessory they can be! The beautiful Laetitia Casta showcases her long legs in classic, retro-styled stockings. This style has been such a hit with our customers; we scarcely go a day without selling hosiery. In fact, we just placed a re-order with Cervin because there has been an overwhelming demand for back-seam stockings. Our customers are calling it the "Mad Men" effect...could that really be it?
In addition to the stockings, Casta is also wearing lingerie from Agent Provocateur, La Perla and a few vintage pieces (anything else we can't tell as we don't read Russian!). The leopard accessories are also pretty spectacular...it works well with the retro theme.
Expect to see some new stockings from Cervin on our website in about 2 weeks!

We can't think of an editorial in which the same item is shown in every single image, and yet here it is! In the January 2010 issue of Vogue Paris, Laetitia Casta wears the striking (and Madonna-esque) John Paul Gaultier green bullet bra in every picture. We love the color...but this style is so exagerrated compared to the typical vintage styles that we've enjoyed (or at least it appears to be). In any event, we love the different looks that are created around this one striking piece. This is truly a lingerie-as-outwear look! Now, who's going to wear it?

Laetitia Casta for French ELLE
Laetitia Casta for French ELLEWe are working on putting together an event at Faire Frou Frou that will involve shopping, champagne and French lessons! French instructor Monique Aldebert will give guests a mini tutorial on sweet little phrases for your next shopping trip to Paris; teaching essential lingerie terms, how to ask for those necessary directions to Laduree, terms of endearment, and so forth. For example, the French word for bra is 'soutien-gorge'...probably not a lot of Americans know that! At least we all know what the French word for 'lingerie' is!
