VFNO: Are you ready for the global fashion celebration?

For all the lucky girls who live in Milan, London, Berlin, Rome, Madrid, NY, Sidney (and in many other cities but unfortunately Stockholm is not on the list) the countdown is almost over, the Vogue Fashion Night Out is coming!
Per tutte le fortunate che vivono a Milano, Londra, Berlino, Roma, Madrid, New York, Sidney (e in molte altre città ma sfortunatamente Stoccolma non é nella lista) il conto alla rovescia é quasi finito, la Vogue Fashion Night Out sta per cominciare!


I can only dream these fantastic special editions, but if you are lucky enough to live in one of VFNO's cities, don't miss the fashion celebration (it starts on the 8th of September in New York and Milan, and I can assure that it is really great!) and absolutely don't miss all the special edition and branded items. Here is my dream list:

1. Sissirossi leather key ring;
2. Antonio Marras' t-shirt is so lovely;
3. 7 for all Mankind printed silk foulard, very chic;
4. The super pink and super glamorous special pack for the new Prada fragrance, Prada Candy;
5. John Lennon style sunglasses, at Punto Ottico Humaneyes, San Babila in Milan;
6. Lanvin t-shirt, I am absolutely in love with Alber Erbatz's style;
7. VFNO 2011 special edition t-shirt;
8. La Perla black lacy gloves, so sexy.


Purtroppo posso solo sognare le edizioni limitate e i prodotti speciali, ma se siete in una delle città della VFNO non perdetevi la festa (comincia l'8 settembre a Milano e NY) e soprattutto non fatevi scappare le limited edition. Ecco la mia lista dei desideri:

1. Il portachiavi in pelle di Sissirossi;

La Perla - The Roaring Collection

La Perla unveiled part of its Winter 2011-2012 collection and frankly it's the cat's pajamas!  The Roaring Collection does a tasteful nod to the style of the 1920s with elegant pieces that in the hands of the wrong designer could have easily been campy or costume-like.  Inspired by the timeless beauty of Art Nouveau, we see beautiful patterned lace, bold lines and of course some fabulous fringe. We can't help but also note how beautifully photographed this campaign is.  We feel as if you can wear these intimates and slip back in time a la "Midnight in Paris" (we figure our Paris-loving readers have seen that movie!).

Victoria Beckham Shows Off Her Undies!

How could we not post the latest photos from Marie Claire with all of the wonderful lingerie on display!  Perhaps we are most excited to see the Bordelle bodysuit (aka Girdle Dress) particularly since we just started carrying the brand at our boutique (just see our last post).  Also, the cover of the magazine features the limited edition Jean Paul Gaultier for La Perla bra that so many of you loved along with Eres panties.  There are actually two covers for the November 2010 issue, with the alternate being the picture of Victoria wearing the leopard jacket (with Eres panties).
We love that luxury lingerie is so prominently being displayed in such a beautiful shoot!

We were going to do a completely different post today, but then we ran across these images (found here) and realized these pictures couldn't wait! Not only are these pictures absolutely stunning, but there's plenty of La Perla (from the Spring/Summer 2010 season), Chanel accessories and high-waist panties...you know those are some of our favorite things. If you like the look of those high-waist panties, look no further than ARI DEIN for a nearly identical vintage look!
The retro styling by Irene de Santis is incredible...and the 1940s hair makes us want to wear that adorable style!

Gaultier for La Perla Capsule Collection

Remember how we saw those exquisite Jean Paul Gaultier lingerie-inspired pieces on the runway (see our post here)? Now the look can be yours with the launch of a capsule collection between Gaultier and "the pearl of lingerie" La Perla.
On July 7th the limited edition pieces will make their public debut at Gaultier's haute couture show in Paris. The pieces will be available for purchase in specialty boutiques in November 2010.
We suppose that for those of you who have been hungering for your very own cone bra since the days of Madonna flaunting her bullet-shaped breasts are in for a real treat!

La Perla - Now Available at Faire Frou Frou!

La Perla is one of those luxury lingerie labels that most people know about, which makes a good reference point for customers who are new to purchasing luxury intimates. In any event, La Perla is now available at Faire Frou Frou as the first of our shipments have started coming in. The images in this post depict many of the styles that are coming to our boutique through the Spring/Summer 2010 season. What's interesting is that for a Spring collection, there's a lot more black than we typically see! Luckily black is a favorite year-round in the world of lingerie!
As far as the designs themselves, they are typical La Perla sophisticated glamour. It's almost as though this season is a collection of luxury staple items.
As lovely as these pictures are, it's even more impressive in person. If you have a chance to stop by our shop and see it, please do!

Gemma Arterton is a name we will be hearing a lot more of, according to the April 2010 issue of British GQ. The young star, who's claim to fame is having been a Bond girl, will soon star in the movie (& expected blockbuster) Prince of Persia. We have to admit, we didn't know her name before doing this post, but have a feeling we won't forget it!
Of course our main concern is the beautiful lingerie Gemma's wearing, particularly in that first shot! We love that the red Marlies Dekkers bra made the cover shot, and the La Perla panties with the Roksanda Ilincic corset top in the first picture is brilliant.

In this 'Style Noir' shoot by Paolo Roversi, Lara Stone models several lingerie looks for Vogue Italy. This is essentially a look you can create by simply pairing stockings with a garter &/or garter brief, and then style your hair and make-up accordingly!
The lingerie in this shoot is an assortment of Dolce & Gabbana, La Perla, Agent Provocateur (hosiery) and What Katie Did (one of our faves that we plan on getting more stock!).

La Perla

We can finally announce that we are bringing La Perla lingerie back to Faire Frou Frou, and we are so excited! The new goodies will be arriving in January 2010, but in the meantime the images from their current collection are so gorgeous that we had to share. In fact, the images in this post were blown up into life-size posters at the La Perla NYC office, and while we were there we took pictures with each one (but they came out ugly, so we're not sharing). We were pleased to learn that under the company's new ownership, and because of the 'recession', the Spring/Summer 2010 prices for La Perla are slightly lower than previous seasons. Yay for that!
In any event, we will re-visit the topic of La Perla once we start receiving our new shipments in just a matter of weeks.
Don't you think this is one of the prettiest lingerie photo shoots for Fall 2009? In terms of lingerie brands, they are tied with Fleur of England for being our favorite spread.
