PT Serif, a free type system

Good news, everyone! After the excellent PT Sans, some of russian best type designers supported by Paratype have released the serif counterpart. It loooks great, it has 6 styles (including Caption which can work as a slab serif) and it is completely free to use offline and online. Download it here: Print package, Web package, it will be probably added to the Google Font Directory soon.

Conqueror: a set of free fonts

Jean François Porchez has released a set of wonderful fonts, with swashes, old style and lining figures, ligatues, extensive language support and everything. Download here.

P.S. Don't confuse it with Coqueror by Yuri Gordon, a great superfamily you will have to pay for ;)

I assume the guys behind the Batman Forever movie wanted a proprietary typeface to use it in the movie, trailers, games, posters, etc. Then someone made a free font based on their lettering.
And then someone used that font for the TMNT campaign.
