Dum di dum dum

So, I’m bored and feel like blogging before I go to bed.  I know last time I talked about losing weight I wasn’t doing so well.  I actually hit a bad bump in the road and gave up on weight loss for about a month.  Well something kicked in inside of me and I decided I couldn’t live like that anymore.  I also came to another major life decision.  I want to enlist in the Navy next year.  :-o  Big stuff, I tell yeh.

Things have been going pretty good since I got back on track.  Sure, there have been small bumps in the road but I can’t see myself giving up.  I have this mental image of myself at my ideal weight with a sexy flat stomach.  I want to be so hawt that I want to fuck myself. x D  I even sprained my ankle as well as busted my knee open on the track at my local high school and was not able to move much for two days.  I didn’t let that get me down too much.  Today I jogged quite a bit without any pain in the ankle…only a little muscle soreness in my calves.  That’s to be expected.  Yes, you read me…jogged.  I can jog now and it doesn’t bother my chest at all.  It’s really only my legs that tire me out.  I’m trying to make them stronger.

My old “exercise” routine was dancing for 45 minutes.  I can’t believe I actually lost some weight that way.  I wouldn’t call that cardio but the jogging and brisk walking I do now is definitely getting my heart going.  It’s actually much more enjoyable to be outside enjoying the sunset and people watch others on the track as I exercise.  Plus, listening to Mother Monster while I do this helps too. ^_^

My eating habits are good too.  I know I could use some improvement.  I actually have trouble getting in my daily calorie intake.  I’m trying my best but I either don’t get hungry or something gets in the way of my eating.  I’m trying to eat more natural foods with less crappy carbs.

Crappy carbs are white breads, sugary cereals, potato chips, white pastas, even mashed papas.  I try my best to eat the good carbs and limit them to breakfast, maybe the snack after that, and definitely some after my workout but I try to stay away from a lot of them toward the end of my day.  Fruit even has carbs, I know it’s natural and it’s best eaten during those times I allow myself to but not later on at night.

I’ve also been increasing my protein intake via grilled chicken, grilled beef, tuna, cooked fish, ground turkey, turkey pepperoni, protein powders, and nonfat flavorless Greek yougart.  The yougart sounds gross but if you mix it with fruit or into a protein shake it is boss. : P

All in all, since I started the first time to lose weight and this second attempt I have lost about 15lbs in total which is quite awesome.  I’m finally starting to notice the difference too.  The top of my tummy is getting flatter and clothes fit a little better.  I fit into a shirt that I bought like 3 years ago that didn’t fit me for the longest damn time. : )

I have small goals and definitely the larger goals to look forward to.  Two weeks from now is Pride and I want to look and feel good then.  I may even splurge a bit and buy new clothes.  Then in July, I hope to go to the beach a lot and I want a more presentable body to show off…lol!

That’s all for now.  To the next few weeks!
